Contributions to upcoming reports
As a researcher, you have the opportunity to contribute to IPBES’ work as an author or reviewer of upcoming reports. There are more than 1000 researchers and experts from various disciplines involved in this work worldwide. The work therefore provides international experience and great opportunities to create a valuable network.
Participation takes place in response to the so-called Calls from the IPBES international secretariat:
- The IPBES Secretariat in Bonn publishes a call, which is also announced on the IPBES in Denmark website.
- Interested researchers contact IPBES in Denmark.
- IPBES in Denmark and the Ministry of Environment jointly select the Danish researchers that Denmark wishes to nominate. The IPBES Multidisciplinary Expert Panel then assembles the final author group among the nominated researchers from the member countries and appoints lead authors.
Activities with Danish experts
Symposia
IPBES in Denmark regularly organizes public symposia related to biodiversity and ecosystem services, featuring scientists, professionals and other experts. Previously, we have hosted symposia on themes such as land use, economics, nature restoration, and climate.
Plenary sessions
IPBES regularly convenes international plenary sessions as a precursor to the preparation of the key consensus reports, which are developed on a research-based foundation of knowledge and subsequently handed over to policymakers. At these events, IPBES in Denmark and the Danish Ministry of Environment are represented along with other Danish delegates.
