IPBES is continuously looking for researchers and experts from all disciplines – experienced as well as upcoming – to contribute to the development of IPBES’ consensus reports.

It is important work, as it feeds directly into political decision-making processes that affect biodiversity and ecosystems locally, nationally and globally. The themes for the IPBES reports are determined and commissioned by the governments of the 146 member countries.

Nomination criteria:

  • Relevant and active research and/or hands-on technical experience
  • Active research background, documented with relevant publications
  • Experience with participation in scientific and technical assessments and in the preparation of decision-making materials, including understanding of the needs of recipients and stakeholders
  • Experience with participation in international and interdisciplinary work and research groups
  • Affiliation with relevant Danish institutions, organizations and/or companies
  • Ability to finance own participation in the IPBES work for which the nomination is received
  • Ability to attend at least two IPBES expert meetings/policy seminars in Denmark

There is currently no salary for participation and no economic support for travel and accommodation.
